A Musician Plays A Public Piano – Then A Stranger Cuts In And Leaves Everyone In Awe
It all started with a single musician at the Paris train station. Then a magical impromptu duet began when a stranger joined him. SNCF train company had no idea the joy that would come about the piano they set up for their travelers, but as soon as they did, musicians from all over the world began to take a moment to sit, unwind, and let the music flow from their fingers.
The instrument is known as ‘a vous de jouer’ pianos, which translated means ‘it’s your turn to play.’
When this man sat to play, he was only minding his own business. He played beautiful music on his own, but the beauty only multiplied when another man came along, slowly adding in a few notes at a time. Then, a delightful duet emerged when they both were willing to simply listen and play along with the other. They were just two strangers with one common bond, the piano, and it allowed them to spread joy to all the other travelers.
They didn’t take the time to practice, because there was no need to, they just jumped right in. Switching octaves left to right was a breeze, and they added more and more notes as the song progressed. By the end, they shook hands, and went their separate way.
