Model-turned-actor Nihar Pandya will soon make his Bollywood debut with Kangana Ranaut starrer Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi.
In a recent interview to a section of media, when Nihar was asked how he feels about being tagged as Deepika Padukone’s ex-boyfriend and not really addressed as an actor primarily, he replied, “I don’t get worked up over it. Yes, even the press note about my acting debut that was sent out referred to me as ‘ex-boyfriend’ but there is not much I can do about it right now,”
Nihar also added that Deepika and he are on good terms now, “Deepika and I are cordial with each other and I hope people’s perception changes once they see my work in the film.”
Talking about his debut, where Nihar essays the role of Bajirao II the actor said the role required a lot of physical transformation. “Krish (the director) not only auditioned me as an actor but check out my action and horse-riding skills before signing me. I’ve trained with Nicholas Powell, one of Hollywood’s biggest action directors, for two months. The character is the film’s hero,” he stated.
Well, we hope Nihar is praised for his talent and the tag of being just an ‘ex’ leaves him soon.
