Nawazzudin Siddiqui and his brother Shamas Siqqiqui appeared before the Enforcement Directorate Office in Lucknow on Thursday with regards to an online fraud which they seemed to be connected to. They were interrogated by the sad authorities for almost an hour. Shamas allegedly called the allegations baseless and reportedly said that all allegations hurled against them were false and that they have shown all their papers and mails to the authorities in connection to the supposed fraud.

Their lawyer Rizwan Siddiqui has offered his own statement and has reached out to clarify the whole situation on his Twitter account.
He wrote, ”Advocate Rizwan Siddiquee representing Mr. Nawazuddin Siddiqui states that there seems to be a lot of chaos and confusion with regards to a summons received by my client Mr. Nawazuddin Siddiqui from the Directorate of Enforcement. In this regard I would, therefore, like to clarify once and for all that my client has only rendered services for a company named Webwork Trade Links Pvt. Ltd. as a professional (Actor), and he has no other dealings with the said company which is under investigation conducted by the Enforcement Directorate. The remuneration that my client had legally and justifiably received towards his professional services had been duly declared to every concerned government department on time, even prior to the investigation. My client who has followed the provisions of law at every stage has absolutely nothing to fear or hide, as there is no guilt. The Enforcement Directorate which is investigating the said matter has been accordingly briefed from our side.”
