Apart from dehydrating you, the hot weather creates a lot of problems for the skin, like tanning, oiliness, open pores, early ageing, and pigmentation. Even stepping out to go to a salon isn’t easy.  But, who needs to go to the salon when you can make so many amazing face masks at home with easily available ingredients. So let us have a look at this DIY masks.

  1. Papaya Antioxidant Mask

Papaya is great for rejuvenating the skin. It’s rich in antioxidants and enzymes, which help in getting rid of old and dead skin cells, giving way to new fresh cells. Lemon exfoliates and tones the skin, while honey moisturizes and soothes the skin.

Ingredients:

  • Papaya- peeled and seeded
  • ½ tsp honey
  • ¼ tsp lemon juice

How to make it?

Mash the papaya in a mixer until it becomes a smooth paste. Now, add honey and lemon juice, and mix properly. Apply it all over the face avoiding the eyes. Let it dry and rinse with after 10-15 minutes.

2. Detoxifying Coffee Mask

The caffeine content in this mask is great for detoxifying and reducing the puffiness on your face. The yogurt base is great to restock moisture in your skin. This mask will also take down a few years from your face instantly.

Ingredients:

  • 2 tbsp freshly ground coffee
  • 2 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 2 tbsp yogurt

How to make it?

Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl to form a spreadable mixture. Allow it to dry on your skin for about 10 minutes. Since this would be a grainy mixture, exfoliate your skin by scrubbing gently when you remove this pack. Rinse thoroughly and enjoy your young and fresh skin.

3. Oatmeal Mask

An oatmeal mask is great to soothe irritated skin. It’s also effective in treating the skin problems, like eczema, pimples, breakouts, etc., when mixed with honey and yogurt. It has antibiotic and soothing properties as well. A perfect relaxing mask after a hot day out!

Ingredients:

  • 1/3 cup instant oatmeal
  • ½ cup hot water
  • 1-2 tbsp yogurt
  • 1tbsp honey

How to make it?

Mix the oatmeal in hot water till it puffs up and turns soft. Now, add honey and yogurt and blend it with the help of a blender. Make a spreadable paste of it and apply evenly to your face or eczema patches. Leave for 15-20 minutes while you relax. Wash off and dab try. This pack can also be used for underarms, neck, etc.

4. Cucumber Mask

Cucumber is very good for skin in summers. This simple DIY cucumber facemask suits all skin types. In fact, this one would not irritate the sensitive skin as well. The cooling effect of cucumber along with the exfoliation of sugar would give you a fresh glowing skin just in 10 minutes.

Ingredients:

  • 1 cucumber
  • 1tbsp sugar

How to make it?

Peel and mash the cucumber. You can use a grinder, but make sure you don’t grind it too much that it becomes liquid. Add sugar to it and mix well. Apply it all over your neck and face, and keep it for about 10 minutes. Wash off and pat dry. You can keep this mask in your refrigerator and use it often in summers.

5. Mango Face Mask

Mango is the fruit of the season, so it has to be some good to your skin as well. Mango is great for removing suntan, and it adds an instant glow to your skin. Apart from that, you are definitely gonna indulge in the delicious smell while you put this pack on.

Ingredients:

  • Mango slices 1tbsp
  • Sugar 1 tbsp
  • Argan oil 3 tbsp

How to make it?

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl and blend properly into a spreadable paste. Apply the mask evenly all over your face and neck. Let it stay for a while, you may feel a little itchy because of the sugar and the alkaline nature of mango. Wash off your face after 10 minutes and follow up with a moisturizer.

6. Carrot and Honey Mask

Carrots are again a great way to revive your skin and give you a healthy pink glow. Honey has antioxidants and antibiotic properties, which are of great help in treating breakouts and removing the excess oil on your skin.

Ingredients:

  • Carrots (chopped)
  • Honey

How to make it?

Mix the chopped carrot and honey in a blender and blend it into a fine paste. Apply it all over your face and let it dry. Wash it off and pat dry.

7. Tomato Pulp Face Mask

Tomato is great to get rid of the unwanted suntan and dark skin in minutes. You can simply slice a tomato and rub it on your face for 10-15 minutes to see the instant effect. This face mask will keep you out of reach of summer’s scorching heat.

Ingredients:

  • Tomato Pulp
  • 1 tbsp honey

How to make it?

It’s a very simple pack to make. All you need is to mix tomato pulp and honey together. Honey would make it a little sticky so that it stays on the face for a while. Apply it evenly on your skin. You’ll feel itchy because of the citrine. Wash off with cold water after 10 minutes and you’ll be surprised to see the effect.

8. Milk  and Honey Anti-tan Face Mask

Milk has skin whitening properties while the honey works to retain moisture to the skin. This face mask works great to remove tan from the skin. It’s a natural way to bleach your skin and improve complexion.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 4 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp lemon juice

How to make it?

Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. This would be in pretty much liquid form, so you can use a cotton ball or fingertips to apply it evenly on your face. Make a thick layer by repeating the layer. Let it dry for 10-15 minutes. Wash off with cool water.

9. Chocolate Face Mask

As delicious as it sounds, this pack would be a real feast for your skin as well. Chocolate has antioxidant properties, which will increase the blood flow in your face. A gentle cocoa and chocolate massage will make you feel and look much better in summers.

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp milk
  • 2 tbsp dark chocolate or cocoa powder
  • 3 tbsp honey

How to make it?

First, mix honey with dark chocolate/cocoa powder and make a fine thick paste. Now, add milk to the mixture and blend well. Apply a thin layer on your face and neck. Let it dry. Wash off and pat dry with a heavenly face.

10. Gram Flour and Turmeric Face Mask

Turmeric has potent infection-fighting properties and also works to reduce inflammation. You can combine it with gram flour and rose water to make a highly effective face mask that works to eliminate acne and pimples from oily skin.

The gram flour is added to the face mask as it absorbs excess oil from skin; it also gently scrubs and cleanses pores, preventing blockage, infection and future acne breakouts. Additionally, this mask also contains rose water that acts as an astringent; it serves to tighten, tone, and hydrate your skin.

Ingredients

  • Turmeric powder 1 tbsp
  • Gram flour 2 tbsp
  • Rosewater

How to make it

Pour 1 tablespoon of organic turmeric powder in a mixing bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of gram flour as well.  Add rosewater as required and mix well to make a thick paste for application. Gently pat dry your skin and apply a light, oil-free moisturizer if your skin feels dry.
