If there is good, there is bad too. We all know that. And it’s the same when it comes to fashion too. While some celebrities manage to impress with their eye-popping style statements, some end up making disastrous choices. Fashion is a tricky thing to write about. What we think is unflattering might impress others. No one’s ever right or wrong in it. Yet we have to pick the offenders every week and this week actresses like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, who rarely go wrong with their fashion picks have landed in our worst dressed category. But why? Let’s find out what went wrong.
Instead of a gown, Huma took a suit route by wearing a custom sparkly blush pink Nikhil Thampi suit for her red carpet appearance at the ongoing Cannes Film Festival 2018. While I like is that she dared to be different, but that suit was horrendous on so many levels that I literally lost the count. The awkward colour contrast of the pink against the grey mirrors made that suit look so odd. On top of that, it looks like she is floating on the red carpet thanks to the reflection on the grey paillettes.
I am a fan of Priyanka Chopra. Hell, I make sure to keep her in our best dressed category every week. She has managed to up her style game. But when she wore a roomy blouse and trouser set by Emilio Pucci, patterned with swirls, polka dots and blooms in shades of yellow, dusky rose and brown, I was just not impressed, even though I tried hard to convince myself. The only the saving grace is her sunglasses, cute tote bag, and white footwear.
Deepika made her second Met Gala appearance this year. Compared to last year, this time she was definitely better. But then it was the Met Gala and expectations run very, very high. She decided to ignore the theme – Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination and turned up in a red Prabal Gurung gown, which sure was stunning, but didn’t really fit the occasion. To make it worse, she wore a horrendous shiny yellow belted velvet Sandro Paris dress that she paired with black skinny pants and matching black Tom Ford handbag and sleek black pumps for the after-party. What do we even say, we’ll just leave it here.

While promoting her recently released film, Mahanati, Samantha wore a floral print organza saree from Anavila Misra, featured with a white crop shirt, and high waist belt. Now again, I applaud her for experimenting with the look, but sadly, it didn’t have a very like-able outcome. That shirt is doing no justice to the beautiful saree at all.
