Well, guess all the efforts by makers of Batti Gul Meter Chalu to plan a solo release are in vain. After they postponed its release from August 31 to avoid a clash with Rajkummar Rao’s Stree, the makers declared September 14 as its new release date. However, the movie was then clashing with Kajol’s Helicopter Eela and Kriti Sanon’s Arjun Patiala. Having three releases on the same day is a risky move that no filmmaker would be willing to take. Shahid Kapoor then did the smartest thing by pushing it a week ahead as the makers speculated they will get a solo release on September 21. Alas! The happiness was short-lived when Taapsee Pannu announced the release of her next on the same date.
Abhishek Bachchan, Vicky Kaushal and Taapsee Pannu’s next, Manmarziyaan will release on the same day as Sasha’s BGMC and we wonder if it’s a good news or bad. Earlier, Ayushmann Khurranna and Bhumi Pednekar were supposed to be a part of Manmarziyaan that was to be directed by Sameer Sharma. However, soon Anurag came on board as the director and the cast changed too. Taapsee Pannu and Vicky Kaushal were zeroed in on. And the grapevine was abuzz that the other male lead would be South heartthrob Dulquer Salmaan. However, it was Abhishek Bachchan who finally made the cut to be a part of this seemingly novel love story. The movie that started rolling in February is ready for its release within seven months.
We now wonder if Shahid and team will rethink about the release date or just go ahead with what it is. Also, the actor can’t shift his release by a week since Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharam’s Sui Dhaaga will hit the screens in its next on September 29.
