Seems like all that promotion is paying off. That’s right Sonakshi Sinha’s film Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi that revolves around the plot of mistaken identity has fared well after at the box office after picking slow. The film is directed by Mudassar Aziz, who also helmed the first part. It also stars Jimmy Sheirgill and Piyush Mishra in pivotal roles. The film is produced under the banners of Color Yellow Productions and Eros Now. The audience is giving a thumbs up to the movie and is specifically praising the performance of Jimmy Sheirgill, whose comic timing is bang on in the film.
Now, while there’s still time before we lock its fate, the verdict is out. If you’re still wondering, the film has managed to rake in more moolahs than the prequel. According to trande pundit, Taran Adarsh the film has witnessed a fair opening of rupees 2.70 crores, more than Happy Bhag Jayegi which had touched 2.32 crores after the first day.
The film has also received decent reviews from the movie buffs. Our critic Moumita Bhattacharjee gave the film two-and-a-half-stars and wrote, “Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi has its moments but don’t expect it to be better than the original. Watch it if you want to laugh at ‘Ye saare Ek Jaise dikhte hai’ being said over and over again. After all, that’s India’s favorite racist joke!”
