Shahid Kapoor and Shraddha Kapoor starrer Batti Gul Meter Chalu are all set to create sparks on the big screen. Even the trailer had left a lasting impact on introducing us to a riveting plot that revolves around the privatization of electricity and the issues thereof. And needless to say, the makers are leaving no stone unturned to up the buzz by dropping songs from the album. In fact, after Gold Tamba and Dekhte Dekhte, it’s time for the third and we’re a little concerned for your musical sensibilities, to be honest.
Titled, ‘Hard Hard’ (whatever that means) Shahid and Shraddha are dancing (like there is no tomorrow) to the party song that has been crooned by Mika Singh, Sachet Tandon, and Prakriti Kakar. However, their moves seem lifted from the hook steps that have been immortalized by Sunny Deol. And the homage is not easy on the eyes. Like that wasn’t enough, the lyrics penned by Sachet-Parampara that go like “Aaj hard hard hard nachenge” is making us a little dizzy in the head. Shahid and Shraddha are trying to make this rather mediocre number work with their zest but there is only so much pep one can stomach. Watch the video here:
Earlier Shahid had told us, “I connected with it and I understood that it is a very relevant real issue. Electricity is and you know the lack of electricity in many parts of our country and the kind of bills some people get since it has got privatized it is a talking point for the entire country. It is a big issue and when somebody finds a script that’s a film and not a documentary that is entertaining but is talking about an issue and is taking it up, I think everybody will be very curious to know about it.” Apart from Shahid and Shraddha, the movie also stars Yami Gautam and Divyendu Sharma in pivotal roles. Produced by Bhushan Kumar’s T-Series, Batti Gul Meter Chalu is slated to release on September 21.
