Being Kapoor Khandaan comes with its own share of baggage. Following in the footsteps of Prithviraj Kapoor, Raj Kapoor, Shammi Kapoor, Shashi Kapoor and others, Rishi Kapoor had an uphill task in front of him when he entered the Hindi film industry. But Ranbir Kapoor’s dad managed to do achieve success, that many believed were unimaginable. Right from his debut film, he managed to carve a niche for himself.
Not only that, he even received the coveted National Film Award, that too for his debut performance in Mera Naam Joker (1970). He was the best child artiste that year, and people loved him. It was no mean feat to achieve at that young age. Over the years he has moved on to act in over 100 films, and many of them have left indelible impressions in the hearts and minds of his fans. He is undoubtedly one of the most versatile and prolific actors of today.
Rishi began on a new journey, in social media, a few years ago, and via his Twitter account, he has managed to make us guffaw with sarcasm and wit. He has given us a glimpse, time and again, as to how funny he can be in his personal life. Rishi Kapoor rips apart the recent hike in oil prices with a funny picture where an old man in pissing inside his car’s fuel tank. Rishi captioned the pic as: “Oil prices increased again by the government. “Protest”. I have found an alternate power source. Experimenting now! (sic).”
We all recall how Arjun Kapoor took a dig at chachu Anil Kapoor wearing sunglasses during their family Raksha Bandhan photos. Quite a while ago, Rishi Kapoor had taken potshots at all celebs wearing sunglasses even when its night. He had tweeted, “Ok ok. I understand wearing sunglasses is a fashion statement irrespective day/night. Why not wear a surgical mask too. Hides the face totally! (sic).”
Models do have to carry out varied outfits during their ramp walks. One pic of a model walking in a unique outfit, which sort of had a pillow at the back evoked a funny reaction from Rishi Kapoor. Sharing the pic he wrote, “Yeh toh genuinely Apna boriya bistar (bedding) leke fashion kar rahi hai. Must say very innovative though! (sic).”
Kim Kardashian’s outfits make headlines quite often. A picture of hers went viral last year where she was sporting a red mesh outfit. Many memes were created on the dress and Rishi Kapoor too had his own take on it. With a pic comparing Kim’s dress to a bag of onions, he wrote, “Onions in a mesh bag (sic).”
If you thought Rishi Kapoor only took digs at the Indian government, then you are wrong. A while ago he had taken a dig at Bill Clinton’s alleged affair with Monica Lewinsky by posting a pic of Hillary Clinton with a funny caption to it. Along with the pic, Rishi wrote, “History is checked! Tx for it ABjr. If it wasn’t right, it would have LEFT a bad taste (sic).”
Everyone is aware of Bappi Lahiri’s obsession with gold ornaments. Rishi Kapoor in his funny andaaz compared Bappi da’s style quotient to that of Radhe Maa.
We all love the famous Mona Lisa painting, but we all also are jealous of how perfect she looks always. Rishi Kapoor shared a new and a lot funnier version of Mona Lisa. Along with a pic of a fat Mona Lisa, he wrote, “Khati peeti Mona Darling! (sic).”
Rishi Kapoor is really fashion conscious. He has always dressed dapper for occasions and events. So when it comes to talking about fashion statements of today’s youth, he couldn’t stop himself from sharing a funny comparison. With pics of a couple of ripped outfits from Zara, Rishi wrote, “Buy two and get one begging bowl free. Sale at Zara’s (sic).”
Well, this is something we have always noticed at press conferences. Rishi Kapoor always gets asked questions about his son Ranbir Kapoor, and many a time he gets pissed on being asked about Ranbir. So to settle that out, he posted a picture which had the caption, “I am not Ranbir mailbox. With love Ranbir papa (sic).”
Rishi Kapoor is an avid fan of football. His son, Ranbir Kapoor also owns his own football team in ISL. So when Rishi saw a pic of Baba Ramdev promoting football at an event, he couldn’t stop himself from asking Ranbir to give him a chance in his football team. With a pic of Ranbir’s team, Mumbai City FC and of Baba Ramdev playing football, Rishi wrote, “Requesting Ranbir’s Mumbai City FC to adopt BabaMessiDev in the team (sic).”
